Our sweet girl!

Ariel has always been a girl that is very generous,so when Walgreen's blessed her with a gift card for Christmas, she said she wanted to use it to take her daddy and I out to breakfast.

We had a wonderful time at the bowling alley having a delicious breakfast and a great time of fellowship.

Thank you Ariel!

Living in seizure central.

Sometimes that's exactly what our lives feel like dealing with seizures constantly.Different kinds, different types and all the time.Sometimes it feels like you're on a high speed train going toward destruction and you just want off.

Other times it feels like you are on a never ending, perpetual roller coaster.

                                       With all of it's ups

                                                     Downs

                                        Twists and turns.

Other times it's more like a monotonous Merry-Go-Round.
You just find yourself screaming, stop! I want off.

It's enough to make you want to pull the hair out of your head.

Yesterday was another one of those unpleasant times.Ariel had been seizurey all day.The VNS is stopping her from convulsing so much and for that I'm thankful, but she still has times where she is very out of it.If you click on this picture you can see a close up of her eyes. That's how you tell when she's seizurey, not to mention she gets very slurred in her speech,so I was dealing with her and finally got her to sleep.I went to bed and at 4:30 in the morning heard that horrible all to familiar moan.

We ran to the room and found Daniel convulsing and blue. After he finally stopped after giving him oxygen and Diastat we pulled the car up to take him to the E.R. because he had dislocated his shoulder yet again. This is more than 30 dislocations.Thankfully he went in the bathroom and popped it back in himself. This is a new frightening set of circumstances in that he was asleep and the danger for him is much greater, due to the risk of suffocation.

We were able to go back to bed,but frustrated that another med, another treatment had failed our son.We have very few options left. Please pray that we can get some control and get some more answers as far as this syndrome the kids have.

Thank you for your prayers.

Christmas recap.

Hello friends.I hope you all had a blessed Christmas,as we celebrate the coming of our Saviour.

On December 23rd the kids grandparents came over.My mom and stepdad.

We had a nice spread of all kind of appetizers:
Little pigs in the blanket,BBQ smokies, veggie pizza, olives, cheese log, salami and other cheeses,7 layer dip, fruit bread and all kinds of cookies and fudge.

After a nice dinner we all sat down and opened gifts.

Here is a youtube of the kids opening gifts.

I'm so glad Daniel got some new pants from grandma for Christmas.

After gifts and dinner we watched Jingle all the way with my stepdad. He loves cornball type movies and since he works at the post office and it had all the mail carrier jokes he thought it was a hoot.

My mom and Ariel worked on some crafts in the kitchen.

It was a very nice and fun evening.

Christmas eve was not good for Ariel at all.She was seizurey all day and had bad tummy. We really wanted to go to candlelight service at church, but Ariel was to sick and the rest of us are getting over this bug.So we just had a very quiet and mellow day watching Christmas movies.

Yesterday we had a nice day.Very mellow. We watched the Disneyland Christmas parade.

                     And a few Christmas concerts.

We gave thanks to The Lord for sending us his son and had a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings and played some board games.

I bought this game for the kids, but it's a bit harder to play than I thought.A lot of the items were from before the kids were born and it was pretty tough for Ariel. So today we will play Apples to Apples instead.

All in all we had a very blessed Christmas.Thank you to everyone that sent a card or gift.We really appreciated it.

Holidays,sickness and seizures.

Well unfortunately this seems to be one of our usual holiday traditions. It never fails it seems like almost every holiday we are either sick or someone is having seizures.

It first started with Gilbert, then spread to Daniel the day after he had a really bad seizure and then it hit Nicholas,Ariel and myself.Michael has escaped it thus far.All my days of hospital and urgent care visits probably didn't help matters.

Hmm lets take a stroll down memory lane at some fun past holidays and events. This is only some of the things mind you.

October Daniel has a seizure and not only hurts his arm,but his face as well.

Right before Thanksgiving last year.Ariel was in and out of the hospital.

Thanksgiving last year Daniel has a seizure.

Christmas last year Ariel breaks her arm.

                              Christmas Ariel's sick in bed.

New Years sick in bed again.

Valentine's Day Daniel and Ariel having seizures.

                                   More seizures at Easter.

In May Daniel has a bad seizure on our trip back from Disneyland.

4th of July Daniel has a mass seizure at the fireworks stand and Ariel having seizures too.

Both boys birthdays were plagued with seizures

Thankfully no one had one on Thanksgiving, but daniel had a bad seizure 2 days later.

So whatever the reason is, we seem to always have something happen every holiday, but I think that's just how our crazy busy months are.I will not let it sour me and make me become a Grinch.

We will continue to make the most of it,baking cookies

 and watching holiday specials

and remembering that Jesus is the reason for the season.
