Gilbert's birthday and fun with grandma and grandpa.

Hello friends, well we just got back a little while ago from taking my in-laws to the airport. It's always bittersweet and we already miss them.

Here is Ariel hanging out with grandpa.

She spent a lot of time in this room with him.My Father in-laws health has declined quite a bit in the past couple of years and so he spends a lot of time hanging out in the bedroom watching Westerns.Ariel is very happy to just sit by his side.

One of the days they were here we celebrated Gilbert's birthday with dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. It's funny ,because anymore around our house a birthday always seems to become a birthweek and the person seems to get a week long celebration.

The waiters and waitresses all came out and sang Happy Birthday.
"Make A Wish."

Then for Gilbert's birthday we invited friends over and my in-laws made their fantastic enchiladas with rice and beans. Not sure why I forgot to take pictures, maybe because I was too busy eating. They also made some awesome Chili Verde.

We had a lot of fun just hanging out at home, visiting, watching movies, cooking and doing jigsaw puzzles, one of my MIL's favorite things to do.They even taught Daniel how to make their yummy salsa.

Unfortunately a couple of days Ariel had to stay in bed, because she wasn't feeling well and was pretty seizurey.

Ariel got lots of love and hugs in from     grandma and grandpa.

Then it was time to say goodbye.

We were all sad,but Ariel was especially    bummed to see them go.

It's such a blessing having grandparents that love being around the kids and are not afraid of their medical conditions.Hopefully we can have them come back in the summer.

Seizures ruin everything.

Hello friends,so you saw how Ariel and I had this wonderful little tea party. We had a fun time in the kitchen together, talking, baking, frosting and several other things to make it special for her.We had a very nice afternoon together.Unfortunately by evening we went from the cute picture above to this.

It can be so frustrating. You go along having some decent days and then boom out of no where
the ugly seizure monster rears his ugly head and you go from having a good time to being laid up with injuries, breathing issues and a ton of other things.
Daniel had also been doing so good and then had a massive seizure a bit over a week ago.
For a long time after he didn't even know his phone number.I am so thankful for the good days and I know we have been blessed with several of them. It's just always a let down when the hard times start up again.

Thank you for praying and supporting the kids. This is the kids prayer page where I also do updates. Please visit and hit like.

A tea party for my girl.

Hello friends,Ariel had asked me the other day if we could have a tea party together and so I thought, why not? So yesterday we had a little tea party. Here are a few recipes I used to make a nice little tea party for her.

                First we made cream scones.

Start with 1/4 cup butter in your mixer, then   add 1/8th cup of sugar and mix

Then add in 2 beaten eggs and  1/2 cup of cream or half & half.
Mix in 2 cups flour 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt.Mix  and turn out on floured board.

Roll out to about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick and then cut in either squares or triangles. Then I brush the tops with cream and sprinkle on sugar.
Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.

We also made Devonshire cream to go with these.

To make this yummy cream mix together one 3 oz block of cream cheese softened,1/2 cup whipping cream not Cool whip
and 3 tbsp powdered sugar. You can add more if you like it sweeter and mix until smooth.Serve on your scones with jam or with fresh fruit.

After the scones we made some sugar cookies with pink frosting.Since I'm a couponer I had sugar cookie mix in my cupboard as well as frosting I just colored pink,so that was easy.

So here is what the table looked like when we were done.

After everything was done we put together our plates and watched a few episodes of Pioneer Woman one of Ariel's favorite shows.I had one happy girl on my hands.

Highlights of the past year!

Looking back on 2012 there were some very tough times, but also some very memorable ones,so here are the highlights.

How does a hospital pic make a highlight you ask? Because even though Ariel spent a very miserable 8 days inpatient with kidney stones in January of last year, her room was flooded with cards from family, friends and members of our church and it showed us and her how very loved she is.

Spending Gilbert's birthday with family, playing games and having mexican food.See how very touched he is.

Going to The Rainforest Cafe with my girl and going to see Oklahoma at the 5th Avenue theatre after.I love those girls days out!

The kids receiving their Emfit monitors from The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation that alarm if they have a seizure in their sleep.Peace of mind is such an awesome thing!

Valentine's Day with those we love.Heart shaped pizza and everything!

My birthday to where I had more outings with friends and family then I could count.I felt very blessed!

Roller skating with our church family, that was a blast, even though I was black and blue for over a month.
