Happy Birthday,Ariel!

Celebrating birthdays at this point in time is tough. We all just want life to go back to normal and be done with all of this craziness.I had told Ariel we would have a fun day even if everything was closed down.Thankfully our state did open the state parks. Her birthday morning I picked up a box of goodies from Panera bread for her.She especially likes these cinnamon crunch bagels with honey walnut cream cheese.I also got a big bouquet of balloons.
I got everything all decorated so she would see it when she woke up.I let her know that we were going to spend the day at the park.Things have been so tough since her nerve blocks aren't considered essential.Ridiculous the things our governor considers essential and the things that aren't.Anyway I was determined to make it a wonderful birthday for her.So we headed out with a Frisbee, ball and some kites. The guys enjoyed playing Frisbee.
Ariel enjoyed watching them play.We tried to walk some trails that we really like walking, but unfortunately that section of the park was closed off.So we decided to go to the beach instead.
             The guys enjoyed skipping rocks.
               Ariel loves looking for crabs.
                    Doing silly poses.
After we had spent quite a lot of time at this park we decided to head to another park to see if our kites would fly better.First we stopped at Dairy Queen to get ice cream for everyone.
The next park we went to is a bit more rocky, but we thought it would be great for flying kites, unfortunately it wasn't.There was just not enough wind.We got them up a few times, but they would come crashing down.So Ariel went on her hunt for more crabs.
This crab scared me half to death.Ariel had been getting these really little ones and then she opened her hand and showed me this guy.Eeks!
After the parks we went and picked up her cake and some KFC.She was pretty much done by this time and wanted to do her cake and gifts the next day.The very next day she was pretty seizurey,so we spent most of the day watching any movies she wanted to watch. It was pretty rainy all day.Later that evening we did cake and gifts after having the dinner of Chinese food that Ariel picked.

We still haven't done her pinata yet or the yard games we bought, but we'll do it all eventually.Regardless she had a wonderful day.

Happy Mother's Day.

I had such a wonderful Mother's Day this year.My kids always seem to make it special for me.
This year I ended up visiting my mother in Chehalis. It's about a two hour drive south.Nicholas and I went to Costco the day before and bought a beautiful hanging basket for her with red Geraniums.Let me tell you the flower aisle at Costco was pretty insane. There were bodies everywhere, but after all the grabbing I got my flowers for my mama and was pretty happy with them.My son also bought me this huge planter with a spray of all different kinds of flowers.
I also placed an order at Panera Bread for all sorts of goodies for her and my stepdad.I'm so thankful I did, because when I went on their site on Saturday to see if they had anything more I could order and  they pretty much had nothing left pastry wise.
I forgot to take a picture of what I got her,but this pic is pretty much what they sell.I brought them Cinnamon crunch bagels with walnut honey butter, bear claws, cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffins and lemon drop and tulip flower cookies.

It was a nice drive and I listened to a book on CD all the way down.My mom made us a nice lunch and we went for a drive around her town. She showed me an area were you could see all three mountains. It was nice for me to have some time to myself which I don't get very often. My mom said she thought I needed a break. While I was with her my guys put up the pool we bought and hubby made me another raised flower bed.

The next morning my family totally spoiled me with cards and flowers and gift cards.
After we made calls to all the important ladies in our family my son and I went to Famous Daves to get barbecue. It was pretty crazy there, but Mother's Day restaurants are packed as it is let alone when you can only do take out.I understand that, but they wouldn't answer the phone when we called for curbside pick up and then had to wait inside for a lengthy amount of time and another 30 minutes curbside and the food was a bit disappointing not to mention they forgot several things in our order and the dessert I ordered were supposed to be three very large pieces of cake as described in the menu as sky high and mountainous and based on price and what we got were three pretty average sized to small pieces. It seemed like they were running out so they cut them a lot smaller. We would have just bought a whole cake somewhere for what they cost us.So that was disappointing, but we decided we were not going to let that spoil our day.

Ariel Daniel and I went swimming in the pool.I was impressed, because Ariel's arms are so flared. It was nice to see her have fun.We decided for dessert instead we would light the fire pit and make S'mores and the guys played croquet. It was a really great day.I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day.
