A tea party for my girl.

Hello friends,Ariel had asked me the other day if we could have a tea party together and so I thought, why not? So yesterday we had a little tea party. Here are a few recipes I used to make a nice little tea party for her.

                First we made cream scones.

Start with 1/4 cup butter in your mixer, then   add 1/8th cup of sugar and mix

Then add in 2 beaten eggs and  1/2 cup of cream or half & half.
Mix in 2 cups flour 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt.Mix  and turn out on floured board.

Roll out to about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick and then cut in either squares or triangles. Then I brush the tops with cream and sprinkle on sugar.
Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.

We also made Devonshire cream to go with these.

To make this yummy cream mix together one 3 oz block of cream cheese softened,1/2 cup whipping cream not Cool whip
and 3 tbsp powdered sugar. You can add more if you like it sweeter and mix until smooth.Serve on your scones with jam or with fresh fruit.

After the scones we made some sugar cookies with pink frosting.Since I'm a couponer I had sugar cookie mix in my cupboard as well as frosting I just colored pink,so that was easy.

So here is what the table looked like when we were done.

After everything was done we put together our plates and watched a few episodes of Pioneer Woman one of Ariel's favorite shows.I had one happy girl on my hands.

  1. Hi Ariel, Hello Linn,

I was just thinking about the wonderful scones my Grandmother used to make when we lived in Washington state (what they call scones in the south are simply not the same thing, grin).
I can't wait to try your recepie and see how they taste. Her's were always triangle shaped, but the rest seems like it just could be them!

Looks like you both created a LOVELY Tea Party! I love that you went "all out" and did it up right.
Wish I lived nearby. I've got the cutest Tea Set.....in the shape of flowers and flower-petals...it's a set of 4 with 1 Pink, 1 Purple, 1 Yellow and 1 Blue....and the serving plate's got all 4 colors. I KNOW we'd have fun.
Thanks for sharing your special day.

    Love You BUNCHES,
    Ms Lu

  2. I love this post! I saved your recipes. Your girl looks so happy!

What a memory for you both!

I collect tea cups and teapots from antique shops and other sales. You would be surprised how reasonably some cute cups/saucer sets are priced. I don't care if my cup/saucers match or not. My mom finds some for me for birthdays or
    other occasions.
